The SKY12232-21 is a voltage controlled variable attenuator from Skyworks' series of HIP3™ components. It is designed to meet the wide dynamic range requirements in cellular transceivers and point to point radio IF chains. It operates with control voltage range of 0 to 5V with 27 dB nominal attenuation at 3.1 GHz and 1.7 mA typical control current. A monolithic quadrature hybrid is teamed with silicon PIN diodes and biasing resistors in a small surface mount package eliminating need for external components. This configuration reduces customer board space and assures attenuation, return loss and linearity consistency from part to part.
